How to use Secret Emoji on TikTok

We’ve previously looked at TikTok, focusing on the creative ways people use emojis to comment. It is less clear how to use the “hidden” or secret emoji available on the short video platform.

They are better called emojis, stickers or emoticons, but that’s how people usually call them TikTok emoticons or custom emoticons.

Doesn’t appear anywhere in the interface, the only way to insert a hidden TikTok emoji is to know the list of TikTok emoji codes.

There are 46 hidden emoticons in TikTok, but they don’t appear on the emoji keyboard, and this is how they look:

How to use hidden emoticons on TikTok

Go to the list of emojis on TikTok
Copy any emoji shortcode, such as [offended] or [stun]
Paste this shortcode into a comment or TikTok title.
This will turn into a custom emoji (aka emoji, sticker, or emoticon).
Alternatively, you can enter any of your favorites, especially if you remember the code.ย To do this, switch to the punctuation keyboard, find the open square bracket [then enter the code followed by the closing square bracket]

One popular hidden emoji on TikTok is [offended], which features a sequence that reveals a custom emoji that looks like a shy one ๐Ÿฅบ Pleading face with two index fingers pointing at each other: ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘ˆ

TikTok supports native emoji across all platforms, which can be inserted using the system-wide emoji keyboard. Some commonly used emoticons in TikTok comments include:

  • โœจ Sequins  : accent point. Can be used as an alternative to   italics  .
  • ๐Ÿคก Clown face  : A description of a selfish or unreasonable person.
  • ๐ŸŽ‚ Birthday cake  : alternative ๐Ÿ‘ Peach when it comes to the buttocks (eg “pretty”)
  • ๐Ÿ’€ Skull  : figurative โ€œ  I’m dead  โ€ (it seemed to me very funny, alternative ๐Ÿ˜‚ Face with tears of joy)
  • ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘„๐Ÿ‘: I am observing and somewhat addicted to this content
  • ๐Ÿง Standing person: Standing awkwardly. โ€œI don’t know what I just watchedโ€ and / or simulates a passer-by in the video.
  • ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘ˆ: shy or shy; available as hidden TikTok emoticons using shortcode [incorrect]

Hidden TikTok emoticons

These “secret” TikTok emoji codes work in both the iOS and Android versions of the TikTok app and appear as a short name enclosed in square brackets. For example, typing [loveface] inserts a custom emoticon that looks like an emoticon ๐Ÿ˜ Smiling face with heart-shaped eyes.

TikTok is a social network and video hosting service created in 2018 by ByteDance, a Beijing-based company. It is designed for creating and viewing short videos.

People use TikTok to watch entertainment content, but expert videos can also be found in it. The content of the app is as diverse as its target audience: from instructions for choosing the right avocado to quick psychological tests. People use TikTok to share emotions, ๐Ÿคฃ Funny videos, and teach ๐Ÿ’ƒ Dances, life hacks, etc.

The service has both a built-in emoji system, available on other devices and platforms, and its own set.

fact: One of the most popular emoticons on TikTok is the ๐Ÿคก Clown emoticon. It means a mockery of Tiktoker, as well as the author’s self-irony about his work. Also popular in the TikTok application are such emoticons as: โค๏ธ Red heart, ๐Ÿ”ฅ Fire, ๐Ÿ˜‚ Face with tears of joy and ๐Ÿ‘ Thumb up.

Equally popular is the โœ๏ธ Writing hand emoji, which is used to express sarcastic observation.

How to add standard emoticons to comments:

  1. Open the video you want in recommendations or subscriptions.
  2. Click the comments on the right and click the smiley icon in the text box that appears.
  3. Select the desired emoticon from the emoji block and click on it 1 time.
  4. Click once on the airplane icon to submit your comment.

To use custom emojis from TikTok, you need to enter a specific shortcode, when you submit it, it will be automatically replaced with an emoji.

How to add secret emoticons to comments and videos:

  1. Open videos of desires in recommendations or subscriptions.
  2. Click the comments on the right and enter the specific shortcode for the desired emoticon in the text box that appears. For example, to send a crying emoticon, you would enter the [cry] shortcode.
  3. Click once on the airplane icon to submit your comment.
